Lineage
A free editor for organizing and printing out family trees. Useful for a history project, or for your D&D world's lore.
Select from several preset themes, or customize it.
A person added to the tree is automatically placed and has their lines automatically adjusted based on the relationship linkages.
Automatically saves in-browser, so it you don't lose your progress if you accidently close it out (in the download version only. Can also manually save and load as JSON files.
Can be exported as a PNG to fit various different sizes of paper to be printer-friendly.
Can upload portraits for each person in the tree if desired.
Can make very large family trees without the app slowing down too much.
NEW in V1.1.0: Now you can set up royal bloodlines, automatically computing the line of succession based on the chosen succession law!

In the above example, Arthur is set as the sovereign, but since he is deceased, Margaret is crowned under absolute primogeniture. James is also deceased, so he is omitted from the line of succession, but his daughter is 5th in line to the throne.
NEW in V1.2.0 (download version only): Now you can import and export .ged (GEDCOM) files, which are used by all the other mainstream genealogy tools such as Ancestry, Gramps, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, and others! Also, there is now a "Kinship Calculator" which shows how any two people you select in the tree are related. Siblings are now also auto-sorted from eldest to youngest (or alphabetically if no birth year is provided). You can also now print directly from the app, so you no longer need to export to a .png if you don't want to. Plus a few other minor features and tweaks!
NEW in V1.3.3 (download version only): Now former partners are properly represented with the double-slash marking on the connection lines. Automatic placement of former partners and children between them is also fixed. Cards can now be dragged to be manually placed if you desire, and the connection lines should properly follow the changes. A pin indicator can be toggled on/off if you wish to see which cards were manually placed. A reset placement button is available for each individual card, plus one for the whole tree, if you at any time wish to switch back to automatic placement. There is now the option to do gender-based styling for the cards, so that different genders can be represented by different-shaped portraits, or by a different color on the ring around portraits.

Please pay just $2 to get access to and download the new full version 1.3.3, to help support the time and resources I have spent to create it, thank you!

Hello, could you add a functionality to have one person have multiple ex-relationships? Currently it gets a little buggy and attaches them to the incorrect spouse. For Ex Relationships, it could be represented with 2 dashes instead of a dot like in the image below.

Thank you for this note! It is done! I have just now fixed the issues you have mentioned, and also added the ability for manual placement if desired, as well as gender-based styling, and it is available with the newest version 1.3.3.
Let me know if you run into any other issues or if I should make any other changes/additions!
No Problem! I'm building a world and this little tool is rather helpful! If I find anything else, I'll let you know!
Oh, and one more thing. What's a way I could contact you about another DND tool? I haven't been able to find a 2D height visualizer that I can run natively on my machine, and since I found you, I was wondering if I could commission you to make one
Sure, that sounds fun! You can email me with the details at corinsol.support@gmail.com , and I'll see what I can do for you
